Missouri Pilots Association

United States Pilots Association
COMBINED ANNUAL MEETING, BRANSON, MO - MAY 15 - 18, 2008
Live music is still the major attraction in Branson, the entertainment capital of America’s Heartland,
but if you haven’t been to Branson for a while, you will be surprised to see the many new developments. Come experience
for yourself the warm, genuine Ozark Mountain hospitality that has made Branson and the surrounding area one of
the great tourist destinations in America.
Considering the wide range of world-class live entertainment, award-winning theme parks, abundant shopping in more than 400 retail shops and outlet stores, 445 restaurants, unique museums and exhibits and many one-of-a-kind facilities and attractions, Branson offers us plenty of options when our meetings are not in session. Blend these unique man-made characteristics with those crafted by Mother Nature - three pristine lakes (with a thousand miles of shoreline) for fishing and boating, surrounded by wooded foothills providing a perfect setting for more than 200 holes of championship golf and you have something for everyone.
Branson Landing offers 95 acres of exciting shopping, dining, condominiums, an active marina and a new town square. There are 100 restaurants and shops in this $450 million dollar Landing and a town square large enough to accommodate 5,000 guests for festivals and music events. The square features a $7.5 million spectacular attraction that synchronizes water, light, sound and fire, created by Wet Design, the producers of world class shows for Downtown Disney Marketplace in Orlando, Universal City Walk in California and the Bellagio in Las Vegas. The Landing also features a scenic boardwalk along the 1.5 mile Taneycomo lakefront.
Friday afternoon has been set aside for attendees to visit this new development in Branson. We will have a lunch cruise aboard the Lake Queen followed by free time to enjoy the many shops and activities at the Landing. It would take a book to describe all the shows (over 100) and other activities in Branson, so we have left open Friday evening for you to pick the one of your choice. We will have some suggestions in the hospitality room. Plan now to be with us in a great location with pilot friends
The Saturday Awards Luncheon will feature Mickey Gilley as the speaker. He is an active General Aviation pilot who regularly flies between his home in Texas and Branson. Saturday evening we have plans to attend his star studded show which is conveniently located next door to our hotel.
