AEROSPACE EDUCATION TEACHER SCHOLARSHIP

A $600 SCHOLARSHIP OFFERED BY THE MISSOURI PILOTS ASSOCIATION

FOR THE SUMMER OF 2008

The Missouri Pilots Association is offering a $600 scholarship for a kindergarten though twelfth grade teacher to attend an aerospace education course. While the scholarship may be used at any college or university, historically, only the University of Central Missouri (UCMO) at Warrensburg offers an appropriate course.

The 2008 Aerospace Education Course at UCMO starts on June 16th and concludes on June 27th. Two graduate credit hours are received upon completion of the course. The course of study utilizes field trips and guest speakers. No previous aviation knowledge is required.

The Norman Lawnick Aerospace Education Scholarship was created to provide teachers with a basic knowledge of aviation related activities and its many facets. This knowledge can then be integrated into their curriculum. The deadline to apply for this scholarship is May 14, 2008.

The Missouri Pilots Association was incorporated in 1953 as a not-for-profit corporation to encourage aviation safety and continuing education for general aviation pilots, and to promote aviation related activities. With 1500 members, it is one of the largest state pilot organizations in the United States, and, as such, is a powerful voice for general aviation.
