2003 MPA CONVENTION
From Kitty Hawk to Saint Louis
One Hundred Years of Flight

MPA’s 50th Anniversary and 49th Convention
Plan to attend the annual state convention in St. Louis County, hosted by the Gateway Chapter. The convention will be held at the DoubleTree Hotel and Conference Center, 16625 Swingley Ridge Road, Chesterfield, Mo. 636-532-5000. MPA rates are $89.00 per night plus tax. The hotel features indoor and outdoor pools, sauna, steam room and massages, a fitness center and tennis courts.
Creve Coeur Airport (1HO) is the host airport. Some right hand traffic patterns are used and well maintained concrete and sod runways are available. 100 LL, mogas and jet fuel are available.
Activities will include a BBQ and aviation museum tour at Creve Coeur Airport featuring
dozens of flyable antique aircraft.
Tours include the Butterfly House and antique Carousel in Faust Park, a trolley
and walking tour in Old Towne Saint Charles, Wings of Hope and Chesterfield Mall.
Pamphlets for the Butterfly House will be given to chapter representatives
in Columbia in January. Pamphlets about Old Towne St. Charles will be given out in February.
Old Towne is a nine block historic district with cobblestone streets and
sidewalks. Many
quaint shops and small restaurants exist under tree lined walks. St. Charles was founded in 1769 and was the first Capitol of Missouri.
A tour of the original Capitol building is included.
