The regular meeting of the Heartland Chapter of the Missouri Pilots Association was held February 1, at Douglas Company Restaurant in St. James MO. 34 members and guests attended.
The chapter began planning for a busy flying season. We are beginning to plan events at each of the airports our chapter covers. Our members hail from Sullivan, Cuba, Rolla/Vichy, Rolla Downtown, Forney Field at Fort Leonard Wood, and Salem. As plans come together, other MPA chapters will be informed.
Copies of the proposed Missouri Airport Protection Act were distributed to the members present. Everyone was encouraged to contact their state representative and senator.
Congratulations to Fred Harms from the St. Louis FSDO for his recent award for his service. Anyone who has attended a Fred Harms program learns a great deal and is a better-informed pilot.
The March program will be TBA. The meeting will be March 7 at Shoney's in Rolla. Dinner at 7:00, program at 7:45.
The April meeting will be at Shoney's in Rolla on April 4.
