The March meeting of the Heartland Chapter of the Missouri Pilots Association was held Tuesday, March 5 at Shoney's Restaurant in Rolla. 36 members and guests attended.
The nominating committee presented the slate of officers for the next term.

Steve Long from the St.Louis FSDO presented the program for the evening. His WINGS program concerned the use of shoulder harnesses in aircraft. His message of use them if you have them and if you don't have them, get them is very important to safety. Research indicates survivability of accidents increases greatly when shoulder harnesses are installed and used. The following website http://www.faa.gov/avr/news/harness/seatbelt.htm lists most aircraft and retail outlets of approved shoulder harness kits.
The April meeting will be Tuesday, April 2 at Shoney's in Rolla. Dr. Don James, Aviation Medical Examiner, will present the program. The program on May 7 will be John Butz, the City Manager of Rolla.
