The April meeting of the Heartland Chapter of the Missouri Pilots Association was held Tuesday, April 2 at Shoney's Restaurant in Rolla. 31 members and guests attended.
Dr. Don James, AME presented the program for the evening. He distributed a quiz on common questions related to pilot certification, then discussed the answers. Dr. James has worked hard in the Rolla area as an advocate for pilots in the medical process.
The Cuba Airport has received approval to build ten enclosed T-Hangers.
The May meeting will be Tuesday, May 7 at Shoney's in Rolla. Dinner at 7:00, program at 7:45. John Butz, the City Manager of Rolla will present a program on the City's economic impact study of the Rolla National Airport.
The June meeting will be a carry-in dinner/Bar-b-que at the Rolla National Airport on Tuesday, June 4. The speaker will be Jack Wheeler who worked at the Rolla National Airport Flight Service Station.
The July meeting will be a carry-in dinner/bar-b-que at the Cuba Airport on Tuesday, July 9. The speaker will be Bob Lynch and other members of EAA chapter 429 and their RV-6 projects.
