Around 30 members and guests attended the June 4th picnic/bbq meeting of the Heartland Chapter of the Missouri Pilots Association. The meeting was held at Rolla National Airport, initially outside, but rain forced the group into the hangar for cover from the rain.
The planned program for the evening was cancelled due to the weather.
There was some discussion about future meeting times, and plans. It was agreed that the August meeting would be another carry-in/BBQ due to the high cost of the Vichy-Y buffet option.
Reminder, the July meeting date has changed to July 2nd, instead of July 9th as previously announced.
The Rolla National Airport is now open for fueling aircraft during the weekday evenings until 9pm. They are trying to encourage the evening fueling so they can keep the office open, so if you are going to be there around 6pm, try to get fuel after 6pm.
The July meeting will be a carry-in dinner/bar-b-que at the Cuba Airport on Tuesday, July 2 (previously July 9th). The speaker will be Bob Lynch and other members of EAA chapter 429 and their RV-6 projects. The City of Cuba has graciously offered to sponsor the barbecue for the evening. Members are asked to bring a covered dish as well.
The August meeting will also be at Rolla National, and will be another carry-in dinner/picnic/bbq. The meeting/picnic will start at 6:30pm at the airport. The program for the evening will be Zenair/Zenith Aircraft, from Mexico, MO. They will be bringing at least one of their aircraft if the weather is reasonable, including demonstrations.
The September meeting will be a regular dinner and meeting at Shoney's in Rolla.
