Heartland Chapter - Meeting Minutes

By: Nathan Neulinger

28 members and guests attended the January 7th meeting of the Heartland Chapter of the Missouri Pilots Association. The meeting was held at Shoney's in Rolla.

Program for the evening was Travis Clark, a pilot for Continental Airlines, currently on furlough but expecting to be called back any time now. He talked about his training for the Embraer 145 Jet.

The February 4th meeting will be at Shoney's. The program will be a video on the Albuquerque International Balloon Festival.

The March 4th meeting will also be at Shoney's. Program is not definite yet, but is planned on being a Wings safety seminar. Spouses are welcome as well, and help us in the Mo-Kan competition.

The joker's wild pot is at $259, we're down to 31 cards. Treasury is at $445.61 with no expenses in December.

Bob Depperman accepted the nomination to be the chapter Wings Program Coordinator.

The Young Eagles day held at Cuba on Nov 16th was very successful, we flew 68 kids, and there were about 10 planes flying. The turnout was better than expected given the weather. We'll be trying for another one in February or March, but don't have any definite information yet.

Chapter information, future meetings, and minutes of the meetings are available at the chapter web site: http://www.mopilots.org/heartland

Safe flying.
