After apologizing for losing our speaker's name and number, and admitting he had not met him until our November meeting, but assuring us he should be a good speaker because he has "one fine-sounding secretary," Herb Roberts introduced Steve Barnhart of Barnhart Security. Steve presented us with an impressive, diverse bio, beginning with his interest in lock picking and telephone tapping in his pre-teens! Impressed by movies and TV, and with extensive courses in electronics, Steve got into law enforcement as a police officer and sheriff, and in fire fighting as well. With a penchant for continually learning something new every day, he availed himself of every educational opportunity such as courses in spying, countermeasures and security earning BS, MS and Ph.D. degrees. Perhaps his greatest achievement so far is establishing The International University, a school of over 50 courses without walls or campus using the Internet. It caters to an impressive list of both domestic and foreign clients requiring instruction in executive protection, and many other aspects of security. Steve also discussed home security, another part of his business operations, detailing widespread scams we should watch out for. Steve's talk was not only interesting and informative, but it could make a difference in our home safety. Thanks, Steve! Al St. Germain

In 1996 there were 1,907 General Aviation (GA) accidents. Of all these accidents,
only 2 involved pilots who had participated in the WINGS program during the previous 12 months! Each accident had
an average cost of $30,000 dollars. Just looking at this information, isn't it worth the 3 flying hours and a safety
meeting to avoid a costly accident? Participate in the WINGS program. It's better than a BFR
