PRESIDENT’S MESSAGE - Oshkosh only happens once a year, and it's not too late to make plans. I have already heard from several members who plan to attend. If you have a plane and need riders, or don't have a plane, and want a ride - may I suggest that you contact or - they will try to help you link up. *** A Temporary Flight Restriction (TFR) is a type of Notice to Airmen (NOTAM) that defines an area restricted to air travel due to a hazardous condition, special event, or a general warning for the entire FAA air space. Presidential/VIP Movement TFRs can be issued with little or no advanced notice - therefore it is imperative that we comply with due diligence by checking with flight service for ALL applicable NOTAMs immediately prior to flights *** In case you haven't heard, SAV-A-CONNIE, INC./ Airline History Museum is still alive and going stronger than ever. With dedicated individuals and the help of an entire community they continue to preserve the dream. Dick McMinn, a past president of the organization, has graciously consented to attend our July meeting, and inform us of the exciting changes taking place, and discuss some of the "can't miss" upcoming events and fundraisers. *** In closing, I must again mention "user fees" and ask for your permission. I will be writing to congressional leaders on behalf of the Kansas City Chapter of the MPA, and would like to say that it is a unanimous consensus of our membership that we oppose user fees. If any member feels it is not a just representation, please contact me - your thoughts and comments would be greatly appreciated. Gary Fox
