MEETING SUMMARY Ė Our October 26th meeting was rather special.  CMSU Flight Team Members Adam Gregory, Chris Schrodt and Michael Collins presented a PowerPoint program on their recent participation in the National Intercollegiate Flying Associationís SAFECON 2005 competition.  CMSU had 15 participants who competed in 17 different events.  The Judges Trophy went to CMSU, and pilots Gregory and Collins took 1st in Navigation Ranking.  Gregory placed 2nd in the Top Pilot Award as well as the top scoring male contestant.  The CMSU team placed 2nd in Ground Events, 3rd in School Overall Ranking and 4th in the School Flight Event Championships.  CMSU is in Region VI along with other schools in the states of MO, KS, NE and OK.  Participation is by invitation only, and CMSU has already been asked to attend SAFECON 2006 in Monroe, LA.  The KC Chapter was pleased to present a check to the team for $200 to help defray costs associated with the competition.  Congratulations, CMSU!  Terrie Jo Fox

DINNER RESERVATION INFORMATION Ė Our next regular meeting will be at 6:30 on November 16th at the DAV, a week early due to Thanksgiving.  If not on the permanent list, please make your reservations with Terrie Jo by Monday noon, November 14th by e-mail, Terrie@Foxware.com or 795-7233.  Menu: Turkey/Stuffing, Mashed Potatoes/Gravy, Cranberries, Vegetable, Salad, Roll and Butter, Coffee/Tea, Dessert.  Al Werner won the November free meal.  See details for December meeting.  Terrie Jo Fox    

WRIGHT DAY DINNER - Come join us for the Kansas City Chapter of the 99s Wright Day Dinner.  It is being held on Sunday, December 4th this year, at the Kansas City Downtown Marriott (200 W. 12th St.)  Guest speakers are aircraft restorers Ron Wright and Bob Anderson, giving their presentation entitled "Bringing Home the Funk".  The dinner is a fundraiser for flight scholarships for women.  The social is at 6:30 and dinner is at 7:00pm.  There are many, many aviation-related raffle items (your chances of winning are great!), plus an auction of more 'big ticket' items (last year included a Garmin 296, a David Clark headset, and some other items).  Ticket cost is $37.00 each. BENEFIT DANCE - If some of you are receiving this in duplicate, disregard. I am helping to organize a benefit dance for a friend of mine, Rob Lawrence, who has been diagnosed with cancer. He is an avid aviation enthusiast and a lot of you may know him as a tour guide at the Airline History Museum. We are featuring the Moonlight Serenade Orchestra, which plays big band and swing music. They are a very talented group. Please find attached a ticket order form and details about the event, (request from Sarah at her e-mail address.) which is to be held at Finnegan's Hall in North Kansas City on Saturday, November 12th. CHAPTER FLYOUT INFORMATION - As your new and old fly out chair, I am going to try a new system. We will be flying to only 3 or 4 close airports for 2005 and 2006 due to gas prices, and to increase our flying and members' participation. (Non-flyers, please feel welcome to come.) Please mark these on your calendar, refrigerator, and clip and save dates in your wallet!

MPA CHAPTER BOARD MEETINGS - All chapter members are invited to attend board meetings. They are held on the first Tuesday of the month, excluding holidays, at Executive Beechcraft, Downtown Airport, at 7 PM. We always welcome your advice and assistance, and the coffee pot is on! MPA STATE BOARD MEETINGS - Any MPA members may attend the state board meetings. Check the MPA News for meeting dates, times and locations.
