August 2009 Issue # 08

The Pony Express Chapter of the MPA met on Tuesday July 7, 2009, at 6:30 p.m. at the Rosecrans Airport Café. Twenty-two members and guests were present.

After dinner, President Bill Bird called the business meeting to order. The minutes were approved as published. Ray Kerns presented the treasurer’s report showing a balance of $4,984.96.

We were reminded of the Wing Nuts Flying Circus EAA Chapter 1405 Fly-In on July 11 in Tarkio.

On July 25^th the XP Skyriders Chapter of EAA is sponsoring a fly-in at Rosecrans Memorial Airport from 8:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. Cost for the breakfast is $5.00 and free for PIC. A special avgas price will be available for attendees.

On July 25^th Cameron Memorial Airport will have a pancake breakfast fly-in/drive-in from 7:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m. Pancake breakfast is $6.00 per person and free to PIC. The Missouri River Valley Skydivers will be dropping in at approximately 8:30 a.m. For more information contact Eric Evans at 816-63202423.

Billy Ray has been asked to serve on an action committee to provide community support for the 139^th Airlift Wing of the Air Guard. This committee will meet 4 times a year.

We were reminded of the Boy Scout Camporee to be held on September 26.

There was a discussion on a PA system for our meetings. Bill Bird asked Al Cameron to look into getting a microphone that is compatible with the system available at the airport.

The program was presented by Larry Denning who is a retired airline pilot. His topic was altimetry and manifold pressure.
