June 2009 Issue # 06

The Pony Express Chapter of the MPA met on Tuesday, May 5, 2009, at 6:30 p.m. at the Rosecrans Airport Café. Twenty-four members and guests were present.

After dinner, President Bill Bird called the business meeting to order. Les Nelson moved and Mike Meierhoffer seconded the motion to accept the minutes as published. The motion passed. Ray Kerns gave the treasurer’s report showing a balance of $5,109.82.

Bill gave the following report for the airport manager, Mike Hurst. The FAA inspection went well and the airport had a good report. We were reminded that the air traffic pattern is 1,000 feet AGL. We are to use the designated parking areas for GA in front of the tower.

Ed Tomlinson reported that the Wings Program now has more activities available for completion of the program.

Ron Wade listed the members who have been deleted the last month. Les Nelson and Bill Bird both signed up two new members. They are Mark and Jennifer Jacob and Chris and Erica Kirk.

The State Convention was held in Branson May 8 to 10.

Several of our members attended. Pictured here are Bill Bird, Ron Wade, Jerry and Connie Kerns, and Peggy and Billy Ray. Bill Bird won $150 in a drawing.

Bill Bird introduced our speakers, Chris and Erica Kirk of Wild Blue LLC. Chris and Erica are airplane brokers and they gave us some tips on what increases the resell value of a plane and what does not. Chris and his wife are also involved in a Christian ministry for at-risk children called Camp Wild Blue.

The meeting was adjourned at 8:00 p.m.

Respectfully submitted,

Kay Cameron, secretary
