Branson has it all - music - shopping - golf - Broadway entertainment - and a variety of restaurants. What began as a rural town in the Ozark hills on the West Bank of Lake Taneycomo has turned into the hottest Entertainment Capital of the World.


M. Graham Clark (PLK) at Pt. Lookout, MO, near Branson. FBO is College of the Ozarks, open 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. It has NDB, VOR/DME RNAV and GPS approaches. For USPA members, the landing fee will be waived if fuel is purchased. Tie down fees are $7.50 (single) and $10 (twin). Telephone ahead 417-334-6411 as parking space is limited.

Boone County (HRO) at Harrison, AR. This airport is 32 miles south of Branson. It has ILS/DME, LOC/DME, VOR and NDB approaches. FBO is Tri State, open 7 a.m. to 9 p.m. Tiedown to USPA members will be free and fuel will be discounted 10 cents per gallon. Telephone is 870-741-4510.

Transportation: Because of the many varied sites and activities in the Branson area, USPA will not try to provide transportation. Attendees are encouraged to share rental cars. Avis rental cars are available at Pt. Lookout at $36-$85 plus tax per day. For reservations call 1-800-331-1600 and ask for AWD J955756. Avis rental cars are also available at Boone County airport at $26 (7 Pax vans $40) plus tax per day. For reservations, call (870) 741-2237 and tell them you are with USPA.

Hotel: The Radisson Hotel Branson is one of Branson's finest hotels. Located in the heart of Branson's music theater district, the hotel is within walking distance of three theaters (including Andy Williams Moon River Theater.) It is also close to two factory outlet malls, totaling more than 140 brand name shops. All 500 rooms offer coffee makers, hair dryers, irons and ironing boards. In addition, other amenities offered are a restaurant, lounge, gift shop, full service beauty salon, indoor/outdoor pool, sauna, hot tub, exercise room, and game room. October 15 (Friday):

8:00-9:00 a.m. - Full buffet breakfast at hotel.

9:00 a.m.-noon - Membership and Committee Meetings.

Dutch treat lunch on your own.

2:00-4:00 p.m. - FAA Wings Safety Seminar.

Afternoon - sightseeing and shopping.

5:00-7:00 p.m. and after Cruise - Hospitality Suite open.

8:00 p.m. - Showboat Branson Belle Dinner Cruise.

October 16 (Saturday):

8:00-9:00 a.m. - Full buffet breakfast at hotel.

9:00 a.m.-noon - USPA Board meeting (members welcome.)

Afternoon - shopping and tours.

6:00-7:00 p.m.- reception (cash bar.)

7:00-9:30 p.m. - USPA banquet: Guest speaker, Phil Boyer, President of AOPA.
