I don't know about you, but I have not been flying nearly enough this winter. The winter months seem to do
that to me and, with rain falling on weekends, this year may have been worse than usual.
But things are looking up. The days are getting longer and we can now at least drive to the airport after work with the Sun still up. In addition to the longer days, last weekend was dry enough for me to get in a couple hours of flying. Yes, things are definitely looking up.
Even when hours of daylight and inches of rain are not cooperating, we can keep up with part of our love for flying. We can catch up on the aviation magazines that seem to pile up each month. Plane owners can use the rainy days to get their aircraft even more ready for a good day. We can get together with others who love flying.
Getting together with others of like interest is one of the many things I like about aviation. Recent time in the air doesn't keep most of us from telling, maybe even, retelling, a favorite flying story. Our monthly chapter meetings are times to share our love for flying with a receptive audience.
Our March 15 meeting promises to be a great time to get together for a meal, fellowship, and learning more about happenings in the local aviation scene. Mr. Gary Cyr, Director of Aviation, Springfield-Branson Regional Airport, will give us news about plans and developments at KSGF and the latest on the airport in Ozark.
I look forward to seeing all of you on the 15th.
