Wednesday, August 4th

After 67 years, the St. Charles Municipal Airport (3SQ) has been closed! As you may know, this airport started as a training site for Navy pilots during World War II. It has been the subject of development rumors for years in part because of its proximity to Highway 370 just west of the St. Charles city limits.

Tracy Smith, Manager of Saint Charles County Smartt Airport (KSET) will be our guest speaker. He will talk about the closure of Saint Charles Municipal Airport and the impact it has had on Saint Charles County Smartt Airport. Also he will talk about the new flight training service that has recently moved to Smartt Airport. Come to hear the what's happening at this local general aviation airport.

We will meet at the Sunset Lakes Banquet Center at 13366 W. Watson Road in Sappington, MO 63127. Our private dining room overlooking the beautiful golf course opens at 6 PM with dinner being served at 7 PM and our program at 8 PM. Cost is $18. Please make your reservation by July 30th.
