Wednesday, June 1st
It's
our 40th Anniversary of the St. Louis Chapter of the Missouri Pilots Association! Way back in 1965, the St. Louis
Chapter was incorporated as the first chapter of the MPA. We are having a party so we can all commemorate this
event and YOU are invited to come and celebrate our colorful past with us!
We are planning a gala event celebrating our past events and projects, and the people who made them happen. Many
of you have been members and supporter for years. We have pictures and memorabilia to share that will help you
remember those good times! You remember Harold Lutz taking pictures and videos at meetings and events? For years,
Betty Lutz has carefully cataloged and scrapbooked these and Bonita Duke has undertaken the challenge to make these
into a video presentation. Come and see yourself and your friends as part of our history!
You won't want to miss this chance to celebrate with our chapter founders and other chapter members! See people
you haven't seen in years!
We are meeting at Greenbriar Hills Country Club in Kirkwood, MO. Social hour begins at 6 PM, dinner is at 7 PM
and the party gets into full swing at 8 PM. Seating is limited so reservations are required!
| Cost: |
$ 18 |
for 1 person |
|
$ 36 |
for 2 people | |
|
$144 |
for a whole table of 8! |
{Have a present you don't know what to do with it? Bring it to the Meeting
and donate it to our 50/50. You'll get 3 free tickets for each item donated.}

The National Association
of Flight Instructors (NAFI) takes pride in announcing a significant aviation accomplishment on the part of Michael
Gaffney, president of Skyline Aeronautics and a member of the St Louis Chapter, MPA. Recently, Mike was designated
as a Master CFI (Certificated Flight Instructor) by NAFI, his professional aviation organization.
To help put this achievement in its proper perspective, there are approximately 85,000 CFIs in the United States.
Fewer than 500 of them have achieved that distinction thus far. The last ten national Flight Instructors of the
Year were Master CFIs while Mike is one of only 6 Missouri aviation educators who have earned this prestigious
"Master" title.

Rescheduled for July 3rd!
The IPA is having their Annual Poker Run to benefit Wings of Hope in St. Louis. The run is on July
3rd. There are seven airports to pick from and you can go to all seven if you wish to have an even better
chance to win! Each person in the airplane can play by getting one card from the specially marked balloon bag at
each location:
Perryville (K02), Spirit (SUS) Main Jetcorp terminal, Sparta (SAR), Pinckneyville (PJY), St. Clair (K39), Dutchman
(Ben Emge, 2IL7) finishing up at Sackman (H49).
Go to at least any 5 airports, and remember every person in the plane can play, even the dog! $1.00 an envelope
and please don't open it until you turn them in at Sackman. Try to get started about 9:00 am, and be at Sackman
by 12:30. Lunch starts at 11:30 and runs till everyone has arrived. Have a lot of fun and make a great donation
to a really good aviation group, Wings of Hope. $100.00 and $20.00 prizes, at least 8 of them!!
If you have any questions, call Doug Clements, 636-537-1302.

Our chapter's Aviation Explorers can use your aviation related items that you no longer use.
Just about anything aviation related would be appreciated: old sectional charts, your old altimeters, heading indicators,
etc. etc. Items will be used in their monthly classrooms.
Please bring your items to our monthly meeting. Members of other chapters can bring them to the state's monthly
meeting at COU and give them to Bob Crandell
