Friends -Food - Fun !

Annual Bar-B-Que will be held at Thunder Aviation at Spirit Airport. We will have the use of one of their new big hangers on Edison Avenue so don't worry about the weather.

Friends: You and your guests. You don't have to be an MPA member to join us in this annual event. Pilots, Student Pilots and the hard working folks at Spirit and other airports are welcome to join us.

Food: We are not going to set the world -- or Thunder's new hanger -- on fire! Phil's Famous Bar-B-Cue will cater the affair. Since he will be preparing the meals in his restaurant and not the hanger. Reservations must be made early and sorry, but no last minute walk-ins. When you make your reservation please specify if you would like:

(1) Chicken & Pork Steak
(2) Ribs & Pork Steak
(3) Chicken & Ribs
Naturally there will be side dishes of Slaw, Potato Salad and Beans. Beer, Wine & Soda will be available ($1 for beer & wine; 50cents for soda). MPA Members are requested to bring their favorite dessert to share with friends and guests. MPA will provide the coffee for dessert.

Fun: Billy & Faye will be back by popular demand. Brush up on your Line Dancing, Texas Two Step or whatever for those June weddings or just to work off those calories.

Business: Our Business Meeting will be extremely brief -- just a few minutes to vote for new Officers & Directors. FYI: to be an officer you must have been a director for one year. Interested in becoming a Director? Let one of the current officers know.

MPA 45th Annual Convention

Join members of other MPA Chapters at the Ramada Inn in Springfield MO. See your MPA News for full details and registration form or click on the link below. If you can't make it down there for the Friday afternoon kick-off, surely you can fly/drive down on Saturday morning, check in to the Ramada Inn (special rate of $55) enjoy the day and the Banquet featuring Captain Tom Irwin, Vice President Operations, Trans World Airlines. We are not having a formal Fly-Out to the Convention since some members are going down on Friday and others on Saturday. Depart for the Convention at your liesure -- it is a Fly-In/Drive-In Convention.

June 5th

Aviation Days/Plane Pull
Sponsored by the St Louis Aviation Museum at Spirit Airport. Static Ramp is open from 1000 to 1800 and will feature modern, historic and unique aircraft, helicopters, hovercraft, sailplanes and balloons. Admission Fee is $3. There will be a silent auction featuring rides in an L-39, T-28 and T-6. Teams of 20 individuals will attempt to pull a TWA 727 twelve feet.

June 12th

Gateway Chapter's Annual Picnic will be at Smartt Field this year. All MPA members are welcome. Fly-In or Drive to Smartt Field anytime after 1400. There will be Music and Games along with refreshments. There will be plenty of photos from the Chapter's activities during the past year. Fried & Baked Chicken will be served around 1800 along with a number of side dishes. MPA members are requested to bring a side dish of their choice. Please bring your own chair. Reservations are requested by not required. Call Harry at 838-3536 or Jean at 469-3541. Children under 10 are free; $12 for all others.

June 14th

Phil Boyer will be in Kansas City for an AOPA Town Meeting.
