November 6th

Come to St. Louis Chapter's meeting and hear Col Jon "JB" Kelk, the Operations Group Commander for our
Home Town Air Force - the 131st Fight Wing based at Lambert. Col Kelk is responsible for the oversight and execution
of the Fighter Squadron's 15 F-15's - ready for world wide duty along with the support and training necessary to
accomplish its tasks. Col Kelk will give a brief background of the Missouri Air National Guard, overview of the
F-15 and it's capabilities as well as something we as private pilots would find very informative - Airspace Overview
and Review of the 131st Fighter Wing's normal flying schedule.
Col Kelk joined the Air Guard in 1992 after serving full time in the USAF for over a decade. He has 3,650 hours
in the F-15, 245 of which were in Operation Desert Storm where he was responsible for the first confirmed kill
in that operation - a Mig 29 -- something you would expect from a distinguished graduate of the Air Force's Fighter
Weapons Instruction Course (read USAF Top Gun School). He also participated in Operation Northern Watch flying
out of Turkey and Operation Southern Watch flying out of Saudi Arabia. And you thought the 131st only flew in the
Lindbergh MOA!
Since 1992 when he joined the Air Guard he has been flying MD-80's. He is an American Airlines First Officer based
out of Chicago. Time permitting you can ask a question about his life with the airline.
We'll be at the Greenbriar Country Club, 12665 Big Bend Boulevard. Social hour starts at 1800; Dinner ($16) at
1900 and Col Kelk will make his presentations at 2000.
Reservations required. Please call Barb Lane at 636-391-2668 by Monday November 4th, or...
To sign up online.
(Have a present you don't know what to do with it? Bring it to the Meeting
and donate it to our 50/50. You'll get 3 free tickets for each item donated.)

November 16th-17th
Overnight Fly-Out to Branson, Missouri. "As far as the November flyout goes, I will need the consensus
of the group as to what show they would like for me to book. If I do not receive any feedback from the group soon,
then they are on their own, since an undertaking such as this requires some advance planning... as it is necessary
to book rooms, ground transportation, tix for shows, etc." Jerry
