
September 4th
Come to St. Louis Chapter's meeting and hear Seth Caperton share his experiences on
"One Day in Combat - 26th October, 1944"
Seth is a past president of the MPA and is currently a member of the Ozarks Chapter. He entered the US Air Force
on July 25, 1942 and retired in 1963. During this time he flew 35 combat missions in B-17s. He flew and instructed
in B-25s, was an accident investigator for B-47s and flew B-52s for six years. After retiring from the Air Force
he was the School of the Ozarks airport manager for 18 years. You won't want to miss this unique perspective of
combat in 1944!
We'll be at the Greenbriar Country Club, 12665 Big Bend Boulevard. Social hour starts at 1800; Dinner ($16) at
1900 and Seth will make his presentations at 2000. Reservations required. Please call Barb Lane at 636-391-2668

September 9th
Greater St Louis Flight Instructor's Meeting will have Bob Linenweber, FAA Operations Inspector, as their
guest speaker. MPA members are welcome at the meeting which starts at 1900 at St Charles Flying Service at 3SQ.
Get off 370 at the Elm street Exit and Turn North. Go approximately 2 miles, St. Charles Flying Service will be
on the left past the cornfields.

September 28th
[Note: the date has been changed from September 29th.] Fly-Out Pontiac, IL (PNT)
for the 10th Annual Threshermen's Bluegrass Festival featuring Larry Sparks, Jim & Jesse, Jimmy Bowen &
Santa Fe, Valerie Smith & Liberty Pike, Thousand Pounds of Bluegrass, Midnight Flight, The Ezells, Tommy Brown
& County Line, The Waring Family, and Bob & Kristie Black. There is a $5 charge and food will be available;
bring your lawn chairs.

at JetCorp at 0830 and depart by 0900.
October 5th & 6th
AIRstravaganza Greenville IL (GRE) Open House 0900-1700. Airplane rides, Displays, Powered
Parachutes, Ultralights, Parachute jumps, Radio Controlled aircraft and more. Food, Music etc. Over 150 Classic
& Custom Cars are expected to be on display. Proceeds to benefit the Children's Miracle Network.
Directions: I-70 West to Greenville; 2.5 miles south on Route 127. Fly-ins encouraged!
