September 3rd

Jack Jackson will be our guest speaker. From becoming a Marine Aviator in 1968 to being named Legislator
of the Year 2003 by the VFW there is a lot Jack can talk about. He flew 600 combat missions in Vietnam in aircraft
such as the McDonnell Douglas A-4. His last military mission was in 1990 during Operation Desert Shield. A highly
decorated veteran, he is the recipient of four Distinguished Flying Crosses, 33 Air Medals, etc. etc. and most
recently the Legion of Merit for Service to his country.
We know Jack best as the Boeing Harrier Pilot. No one has more experience in flying the Harrier than Jack who has
over 5,000 hour in the Harrier alone and double that amount if you include his time as a Marine Aviator and testing
virtually every type of US fighter in service since 1978 plus a couple of Russian fighters.
We'll be at the Greenbriar Country Club, 12665 Big Bend Boulevard. Social hour starts at 1800; Dinner ($16) at 1900 and Jack will make his presentation at 2000. Reservations required. Please call Barb Lane at 636-391-2668 by Monday September 1st. You can also send her an email at elane01@earthlink.net
(Have a present you don't know what to do with it? Bring it to the Meeting
and donate it to our 50/50. You'll get 3 free tickets for each item donated.)

Former NASA astronaut, Capt Winston Scott, US Navy, will be coming to St Louis and attending the Fly-In at CPS. On the evening of September 13th we are setting up what will be billed as the largest hangar party in the Midwest. This event will take place in the West hangar at Executive Beechcraft (SUS) with Winston and many other local St Louis celebrities attending. Here's an opportunity to get the entire MPA membership "fired up" in a fun-filled atmosphere. 500 tickets will be available for $25.00 each (MPA Members only $12.50 - contact William Duke at Duke@TopgunUnlimited.com or call 314-780-0849). All proceeds go to the Gateway Eagles Youth Programs and Scholarship Funds. Capt Scott is going to have a huge following of GA pilots from all over the US coming to St Louis that weekend. Winston was selected for and accepted the position of Executive Director for the Florida Space Authority several weeks ago and is basically in charge of Cape Canaveral and reports directly to the Governor of Florida. Please spread the "word". This could be the "shot in the arm" that GA needs in Missouri. Click on the NASA Logo for information about Capt Scott.
